Sunday July 20 from 1 to 5 pm in Montville
Art - Dance - Music - Friends
Don't miss it! The 9th Annual Mid-Summer Celebration brings together a kaleidoscope of art in one afternoon of outdoor summer fun. Bring your blankets or folding chairs to Kingdom Falls in Montville and enjoy the entertainment on the Bird Wing Stage.
The afternoon will kick off at 1pm with “Preserving our Planet” presented by performer and mime artist Scot Cannon, an environmental awareness program geared towards all ages.
At 2pm Hymn for Her, the singer-song writer acoustic duo Maggi and Pierce from Philadelphia will take the stage. The couple, also known up and down the mid coast as part of the Indie band Maggi-Pierce and EJ, will showcase their new cd and lyrics of love.
At 3pm The Tough Cats, the rock-a-billy bluegrass funk trio from North Haven will rock the lawn in grand style to cap off the afternoon.
Throughout the afternoon the festivities will include a variety of visual, eco and performing artists. Philadelphia choreographer and dancer Katharine Livingston will present “Threads” in the pine grove at the entrance to the stage area during the music. Nationally known eco artists Avy Claire and Barbara Andrus will unveil their landscape installations for all to enjoy and the main studio will showcase the work of selected Waterfall Arts summer faculty, Leslie Pontz, Paul Oberst, Joel Lipman, David Estey, Harold Garde and Richard Tremaglio. Guests will be able to walk the trails and enjoy the gardens or the falls at their leisure. John’s Ice Cream of Liberty and others will be on hand to provide cool and soothing refreshments.
